Seasonal To-Do’s

My family’s favorite Christmas treat is Wassail. Some people think it’s sweet, some would say it’s tart, I just think it’s tasty. It’s kind of like apple cider…but better 🙂 Here’s the recipe I grew up with at my Grandma’s!

Ingredients:

4 c. unsweetened pineapple juice

1-12 oz. can apricot nectar (1 1/4 c.)

2 c. apple cider

1 c. orange juice

6 sticks of cinnamon

1 tsp. whole cloves

4 cardamon seeds – optional (open instead of crushed)

Put cloves (and cardamon seeds if used) in a tea ball and hang in the juices. Heat to boiling. Simmer 20 minutes (or keep in a crock pot like my mom does). Makes 2 quarts.

So fill up some mugs and snuggle with them by the fire, pop in a Christmas movie, and enjoy!!
